Most people put toys aside after use, only to find out a few days later that they still need to be cleaned. Don't do it again! If the toy is not cleaned immediately, the material may be damaged. Plus, mold getting inside or on your sex toy is the last thing you want!

Not all sex toys require the same cleaning treatment. Below we discuss different sex toys and the best cleaning methods for them.

1.Cleaner for toys

There are special toy cleaners for sex toys. Toy cleaners usually come in a bottle so you can easily dose the cleaner onto your toys. Toy cleaners are alcohol-free but contain antimicrobial ingredients to fight bad odours, fungus and bacteria.

Apply toy cleaner to the toy, then use a cloth to wipe the cleaner on the toy. Let the toy cleaner work for about a minute, then rinse under the tap. You want to make sure that no antimicrobial substances are left on the toy. Then dry the toy with a dry cloth and your toy is ready to use again!

2.dishwasher

Many sex toys are also dishwasher safe! Be careful though, as electronic sex toys like vibrators are not dishwasher safe. Electrical components may be damaged. Does your toy have batteries or run on batteries? Then it cannot be put in the dishwasher. Dildos and butt plugs are usually the most dishwasher safe. A heat program (65 degrees or higher) is recommended if you want to ensure that all bacteria are killed.

3.water and mild soap

The easiest way to clean a toy is to use warm running water. Place toy under warm running water immediately after use, using mild soap if necessary. Antibacterial soaps such as Dettol also work well. Make sure to rinse the toy thoroughly after cleaning. Antibacterial soaps are not suitable for getting on or touching your genitals. Nooks and crannies are places where dirt can easily get in. For proper cleaning, it is best to use a cotton swab.

Cleaning sex toys with antibacterial wipes is a quick and effective way to keep things clean. It doesn't matter what material your sex toy is made of. You can also boil your sex toys in order to kill any bacteria present. Place the toy in boiling water for about three to five minutes. Make sure the toy doesn't touch the bottom of the pot, so it doesn't burn the toy.
